An Evening of Encounters, Support, and Future Perspectives
An Evening of Encounters, Support, and Future Perspectives
In the festive setting of the Grand Tirolia Hotel, a very special anniversary was celebrated: 25 years of Bread Against Need. More than 200 guests from business, culture, and society followed the invitation of the Heiner Kamps Foundation and also celebrated the 70th birthday of Heiner Kamps. The evening was dedicated to gratitude, reflection, and the shared motivation to create better futures for young people around the world.
Under the motto “With Heart, Courage, and Craftsmanship,” the foundation looked back on a quarter-century of commitment. From the very beginning, the training and education of young people in economically disadvantaged regions has been at the heart of their work – whether in Senegal, Turkey, or other countries where vocational training projects open up new career opportunities.
A special highlight of the evening was the live performance by Haddaway, whose music accompanied the gala event. Equally impressive was the donation total of 360,870 euros, made possible through generous support. Every cent will go directly to current and future educational projects.
In his speech, Heiner Kamps emphasized: “Helping has a lasting impact – not just a temporary one. For 25 years, we have focused on education, opportunities, and hope. Our promise remains: shaping the future together.”
To conclude the evening, a new project in Ukraine was presented, aimed at giving children and young people on site urgently needed perspectives.
The gala evening was not only a moment of reflection, but above all a powerful reminder of how much can be achieved through commitment, cooperation, and solidarity – and how important it is to continue on this path.
